Successful Participation in the International Fatigue Conference in Madeira (ICF14)

This year’s International Fatigue Conference (IFC14) in Madeira focused on current developments and research findings in the field of material and component fatigue. The international conference offered scientists from around the world the opportunity to present their research and exchange ideas on current issues and methods.

The University of Kassel was also represented with two presentations. Nico Möller and Marcel Krochmal from the Institute of Materials Engineering attended the conference together and each presented their research in a presentation. This allowed them to present their current scientific work to an international audience of experts and engage in numerous discussions with researchers from various countries.

For Nico Möller, the conference was particularly successful: he was awarded the Best Session Award for his presentation. The award recognizes the best presentation within a conference session and serves as a special acknowledgment of the research presented.

In addition to the scientific presentations, IFC14 offered numerous opportunities for professional exchange and networking within the international fatigue community. The conference took place on Madeira, which meant that the technical discussions were set against the backdrop of a unique setting with views of the Atlantic Ocean and sunny weather.

Participation in IFC14 thus not only provided the opportunity to present the University of Kassel’s latest research findings to an international audience, but also to establish new contacts and further expand existing scientific networks.
