At the 23rd Conference on Educational Technologies of the German Informatics Society (DELFI 2025), David Mack and Ludger Schmidt's long paper "Integration of real tools in a VR training application - comparative study with and without haptics" received the "Best Paper Award". Out of a total of 60 scientific submissions, 9 were presented as long papers at the DELFI conference, which took place from September 8-10, 2025 at the TU Bergakademie Freiberg.
The selection was made by the program committee; the laudation stated: "Your contribution impressively demonstrates how virtual reality (VR) can be used to train complex manual assembly processes. The integration of haptics into a VR training application is an important step in the development of effective learning environments. What is particularly impressive is the fact that the contribution has accompanied an industrial use case through the entire development cycle from technological development and evaluation to the presentation of scientific results. This impressively demonstrates that your contribution is not only theoretical, but also practically relevant."
