REFA Hessen and the Department of Human-Machine Systems Engineering intensify cooperation

At the beginning of the winter semester 2025/2026, Sascha Panten, Managing Director of REFA Hessen, and his long-time predecessor, Dipl.-Ing. Alexander Appel, who previously also headed the nationwide REFA Institute in Dortmund, visited the digital laboratory of the Department of Human-Machine Systems Engineering to agree on deepening the previous cooperation. Following an information event, the next concrete step will be a free workshop day for students of ergonomics and human-machine systems 1. Participants will gain exciting insights into practical challenges in work and process design and benefit from direct exchanges with REFA experts from the field. REFA Hessen participants will also have the opportunity to visit the department's laboratories at the University of Kassel. The latest technical aids, assistance systems and innovative solutions will be presented on site, showing how modern technology can optimally support people in the work process. Research thus becomes tangible - and can be experienced directly.

The cooperation between the Department of Human-Machine Systems Engineering at the University of Kassel and REFA Hessen is long-term and will be continuously expanded. It creates added value for students, strengthens the practical relevance of teaching and opens up new perspectives for the transfer of research results into operational applications. Together, the University of Kassel and REFA Hessen are shaping the working world of tomorrow.
