The "Granularity of Structural Information in Materials Engineering" group is pleased to introduce to you all our new research associate Ms. Hanyu Xu. She is working in the DFG project "Data-driven inverse design for enhanced tramp elements tolerance in scrap-based steelmaking". Her focus is on density functional theory, machine learning methods for interatomic potentials and phase field simulations, especially in the context of Cu segregation. The work is carried out in close collaboration with the University of Oxford, which performs in-situ X-ray imaging of Fe-C-Cu-X alloys.
