Course: Fatigue and Near Surface Properties
Lecturer
- Dr.-Ing. Thomas Wegener
Learning objectives
- Knowledge: Students will learn the procedures for testing materials and components under cyclic loading and the underlying damage mechanisms. They will also gain knowledge regarding procedures that can be used to increase the strength of components subjected to monotonic loading.
- Skills: Students will learn to evaluate stress conditions and take measures to increase strength of components.
- Competencies: Students will be able to assess components with regard to their load-bearing capacity. They will also learn to design the components for advanced applications.
