Metallic Materials: Corrosion and Corrosion Protection
Lecturer
- Dr.-Ing. Johanna-Maria Frenck
Learning Objectives
- Students have acquired basic theoretical knowledge of various corrosion processes. They have learned about different types of corrosion and are able to recognize and describe them. They are familiar with the relevant factors influencing corrosion processes and can identify correlations and suitable corrosion protection methods.
- Students have also learned, deepened, and consolidated their skills in using a classic 3-electrode test setup. They are able to independently conduct and evaluate corrosion experiments (measurement of the free corrosion potential and a current density-potential curve).
