Cantiamo

Cantiamo Kassel has had a permanent place at the university since 2005 and is open to all enthusiastic choir singers. New programs and projects are developed every semester.

Cantiamo Piccolo

The chamber choir is made up of experienced singers and has already established itself in numerous competitions in Kassel's cultural scene and nationwide thanks to its broad repertoire ranging from music by old masters to new music.

Big Band

Management: Detlef Landeck

The Big Band can trace its roots back to the time when the institute was founded in the 1970s. Although this makes it the oldest ensemble at the institute, it reinvents itself every semester with a different thematic focus. Concerts in the university, Bergpark, Schlachthof or Theaterstübchen regularly leave an enthusiastic audience in their wake.

The idea of this self-organized orchestra is to learn from and help each other by making music together and in musical direction. Students can try out ensemble playing and conducting as well as the organization of a large ensemble.

University Orchestra

The University of Kassel Symphony Orchestra consists of around 70 musicians of all ages: pupils, students, lecturers and professors, professionals and senior citizens. They are passionate about playing our instruments and love making music together.

Percussion ensemble

The percussion ensemble brings together students with percussion as their main subject. The repertoire includes works by Cage, Reich and Rosauro.

Ensemble International

The Ensemble International was formed from weekly rehearsals between students and teachers at the department and refugee musicians. They work together on Arabic, Kurdish, Persian and German music.
