Cantiamo Piccolo

The chamber choir Cantiamo Piccolo consists of experienced singers who receive most of their musical training at the Institute of Music at the University of Kassel. The chamber choir was formed in 2008 under the direction of Andreas Cessak from the University of Kassel choir, Cantiamo, and has since established itself on the cultural scene in Kassel and throughout Germany with a broad repertoire ranging from music by old masters to contemporary music. Numerous collaborations, including with the International Heinrich Schütz Society (2010), the Bärenreiter publishing house (2012) and the Kasseler Musiktage (2017), characterize the ensemble's work. In 2012 and 2016, the chamber choir took part in the German Choral Festival competition in Frankfurt and Stuttgart with great success: the ensemble was awarded the highest performance ratings of "very good" and "outstanding" in the "Early Music" and "Modern" categories. In 2015, Cantiamo Piccolo was the only German representative at the Spittal International Choir Competition and was ranked among the five best participating choirs.
