Internship according to PO 2020 (recognition as key competencies)

Students of PO 2020 (start of study or change of PO from WS 2022/2023) can have an internship recognized as key competencies in module B25.

1 credit is recognized per 30 hours of internship duration, a maximum of 12 credits can be awarded for 360 hours of internship duration. 

In PO 2020, there is no mandatory internship.

For recognition the internship must be

  • the internship must be suitable in the sense of the specifications of the examination board for economics,
  • be registered by means of our registration form
  • be accompanied by an original internship certificate or a certificate of internship stating the nature and scope of the activities,
  • the original signed application for recognition of the internship must be submitted with the certificate.

Once you have found an internship position, you must register your internship with the "Internship and Career Orientation" coordination office of the Department of Economics. To do so, please fill out the electronic registration form . The registration of the internship will be confirmed to you within 14 days.

Only activities that have predominantly taken place in the commercial or administrative area can be recognized as internships. Tasks must have been performed for which a degree in economics is desirable or necessary.

For recognition, the internship must be

  • an original internship certificate or internship attestation must be submitted, showing the nature and scope of the activities,
  • an internship report (consisting of a cover sheet, a weekly report booklet, and a description and analysis of a problem) must be prepared. The internship report represents a course achievement and is evaluated with "passed" or "failed".
