The Mercedes-Benz plant in Kassel is the global competence center for electric drive systems and conventional commercial vehicles of Daimler Truck. The associated InnoLab for e-drive systems at the Kassel location is actively shaping the future of locally CO2-neutral vehicles. As a municipal energy supplier, EAM is currently training around 100 young people to become industrial clerks, electronics technicians for operating technology, industrial electricians, specialists for water supply technology and in the dual study program Bachelor of Science/ Engineering Electrical Engineering and Business Informatics. The company is driving forward the energy transition with innovative concepts and thus offers trainees the opportunity to play an active role in shaping the energy supply of tomorrow.

Young people from EAM's entire network area, which covers large parts of Hesse and southern Lower Saxony as well as parts of North Rhine-Westphalia, Thuringia and Rhineland-Palatinate, take advantage of the opportunity for qualified training. Part of the training takes place in the training workshop in Baunatal in northern Hesse. The practical parts are completed close to home in a regional team. The aim is for the young specialists to be employed at an EAM site in their home region after successful completion of their training.

At EAM, the focus is on the holistic training of young people. In addition to technical training, the personal development of each trainee is an important part of the regional utility's educational concept. The EAM Campus in Baunatal forms the heart of the training. Not only do the young people live there during the week: in their free time, they are also accompanied by dedicated EAM educators who have an open ear for them around the clock. In addition to a cafeteria, the spacious EAM Campus offers various fitness and common rooms. In addition, a large recreational program is offered. Here, work colleagues become friends who support each other as a team - even far beyond the training.

In the Road Traffic and Civil Engineering Office of the City of Kassel, employees plan, build and operate the road infrastructure in the city. Engineers plan roads, bridges and traffic signals (traffic lights), organize the awarding of contracts to construction companies, supervise construction and accept services. In addition, the employees ensure that the traffic facilities are in a condition that is safe for traffic. This means they inspect and repair them. The area of responsibility also includes the operation of a traffic management system and the Kassel digital test field for connected driving.

Technoform is a medium-sized company headquartered in Kassel, Germany, which manufactures continuous profiles from plastic granulate for use in windows, doors and facades. With more than 45 production and sales facilities and more than 1,600 employees, Technoform is present all over the world. The Technology Day will take place in the Competence Center, which deals with research and development, as well as material and component testing, among other things. During the day, the students will be shown the basic structure of windows and given a basic knowledge of plastics and their processing. Afterwards, they will produce their own test specimens using injection molding, which will then be tested for their properties in the laboratory.

The Kassel plant at the Baunatal site is the second largest domestic location in the Volkswagen Group and has been producing manual and automatic transmissions, as well as the most innovative e-motors and hybrid transmissions for vehicles throughout the Group since 1958. Production Planning develops and implements the appropriate manufacturing concepts and production facilities - from the initial design to the end of the product's life cycle.
