Programming with OpenCL

The goal of this project is to implement an experimental Einstein@Home client for AMD graphics cards using OpenCL. Einstein@Home is a distributed computing project (similar to SETI@Home) that uses computing power provided by participants to find so-called gravitational waves. As part of the project, the existing application must be adapted so that all computationally intensive areas of the application are implemented with OpenCL.

The project is designed for a group of 2 participants. If you are interested, please register in advance by e-mail.

Requirements
Knowledge of C/C++ and OpenCL, experience in the field of performance optimization or the willingness to acquire this knowledge during the project are required.

Participants
Students of the diploma, bachelor or master program in computer science from the 5th semester and other interested parties.

Scope

• Bachelor 8 SWS (12 CP). It is not possible to take the project with 4 SWS Bachelor
