Parallel algorithms
In the seminar "Parallel Algorithms", participants present individual algorithms or classes of algorithms, taking parallel aspects into account.
The topics covered include
- Simplifying approaches in parallelization (Google's MapReduce)
- Metaheuristic methods (ant and genetic algorithms)
- Graph-theoretical algorithms (search trees, shortest paths)
- Classical approaches for new application areas (sorting and string algorithms)
Participants can also suggest their own topics. Please send an email to Michael Lesniak (mlesniak@uni-kassel.de) at least one week before the preliminary discussion, stating the topic and literature.
Participants
Diploma, Bachelor or Master students from the 5th semester and other interested parties.
