The Buddy Program: Become a Guide

Help international students get started in Kassel and expand your own intercultural skills at the same time. As a Buddy Guide, you will help new arrivals find their way around campus and everyday life.

Your advantages as a guide

• Establish networks: contacts with students from all over the world.
• Language practice: use foreign languages directly in dialog.
• Preparation: Ideal training for your own stay abroad.
• Recognition: Receive a certificate of participation or 2 ECTS points (after consultation with the examination office).

Prerequisites

You are at least in your second semester and bring the following with you:

• Openness and enjoyment of exchange with other cultures.
• Reliability.
• Participation in a preparation and follow-up meeting.

How to obtain a certificate of participation:

1. Register as a buddy.
2. Register immediately for the certificate.
3. Supervise a buddy for one semester.

The path to 2 ECTS points:

1. Register as a buddy.
2. Register for ECTS in good time.
3. Compulsory participation in the buddy workshop.
4. Upload your experience report to Moodle.
