Roundnet Women Day Kassel

On November 7, 2021, the first ever Roundnet Women's Day took place in the Aueparkhalle in Kassel. The young sport has become increasingly popular in recent years, and tournaments in particular have increased significantly. However, there have hardly been any women's tournaments to date. Mixed and open divisions take place at most tournaments. Unfortunately, it has hardly been possible to organize a women-only division. The organizer Nora Haas urgently wanted to change this and therefore came up with the idea of organizing a roundnet day for women. The idea was very well received by the German Roundnet community. 40 starting places and a 2G rule were agreed in advance and the idea was then spread via social networks. Women from all over Germany, from Freiburg, Kiel, Cologne, Erlangen and many more, traveled to Kassel to play Roundnet together for a whole day. A total of 40 women from 16 communities took part.
The program was filled with pick-up games and small tournaments. It was a great opportunity to get to know other good players and improve your own Roundnet skills. The day was also an opportunity to set an example for equality in sport and support the German Roundnet women's community.

The organizer Nora Haas on the Roundnet Day: "I particularly liked the great atmosphere, which you already know from Roundnet, but which was even more positive and encouraging among the girls. Everyone was up for it, everyone was happy to be there. I got so much positive feedback that day. Even from girls who unfortunately couldn't come on the day, but were grateful that this event was taking place. Many men also wrote to me to say that they thought it was cool that something like this was happening."
