University of Kassel successful at German university championships in canoe polo

The University of Kassel team put in a strong performance at this year's German University Championships (DHM) in canoe polo. The event took place on May 17 and 18 in the river pool of the Warnow Rostock Water Sports Association and was organized by the General German University Sports Association.

In addition to the Kassel team, university sports groups from Rostock, Cologne, Aachen and Hanover also took part. The team arrived on 16 May and, after a refreshing dip in the 10-degree Baltic Sea, started the tournament weekend with plenty of motivation.
The students from Kassel were able to make their first mark with an opening victory against Rostock. The success was duly celebrated in the evening with a tour of Rostock's historic old town. After further exciting matches and a clear victory in the last game, the Kassel team secured a respectable seventh place in the overall ranking.
The new German University Champion 2025 was the team from the German Sport University Cologne, who successfully defended their title from the previous year.
The canoeists from the University of Kassel train every Wednesday from April to October from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on the grounds of the Kanu-Sport-Kassel e.V. (KSK) at Finkenherd.
