"Move & Groove" 2026: Active together despite the change in weather

Once again this year, the Holländischer Platz campus was all about movement, encounters and community. With "Move & Groove" on 13 May, study well, the student health management team at the University of Kassel, invited students to get active together, discover new activities and consciously experience everyday university life differently for a few hours.

The original plan was to enliven the outdoor sports areas at HoPla with sun, music and a festival atmosphere. However, the changeable weather put paid to the original plans at short notice. Without further ado, the event was moved to the Studierendenhaus - a spontaneous adjustment that also shows that health and community do not only work in perfect conditions, but especially when people remain flexible together and make the best of it.

"Move & Groove is about more than just sport," emphasized the study well organization team. "It's about bringing people together, being active together and creating spaces in which health, exchange and well-being naturally have a place."

Especially in everyday student life, which is often characterized by long periods of sitting, pressure to perform and deadlines, study well wants to create low-threshold offers that promote exercise and social encounters. The varied program offered numerous opportunities for this: From hands-on sporting activities to creative activities and inclusive games, there was something for everyone.

The relaxed atmosphere in the Student House made it particularly clear how important community events are for a vibrant campus. Many initiatives, departments and committed supporters helped to ensure that "Move & Groove" could be successfully implemented again in 2026.

A big thank you to everyone involved for the successful event!
