Reading pleasure instead of reading frustration: New database with authentic texts for Spanish lessons finally online!

When the Spanish-speaking world is just a click away on the Internet, it's worth taking a look and bringing it into the classroom!

The KastELE database combines didactic and linguistic expertise. It makes it possible to integrate authentic texts that guarantee topicality, variety and cultural diversity into Spanish lessons at an early stage. The solution lies in the combination of text and tasks and in the conscious promotion of text competence. Creative tasks and targeted comprehension strategies are required in order to convey the Spanish-language world and at the same time promote communicative and media skills. KastELE provides the material for this: comprehensively prepared text profiles and task portfolios for all relevant levels of the GeR (A1 - C2). The teaching materials are available to all users of the KastELE digital database free of charge as editable files for face-to-face and distance learning.

KastELE was created as part of the PRONET2 research project "Professionalization through networking - continuation and potentiation (2019-2023), sub-project "thinking texts dynamically", funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research as part of the joint quality offensive for teacher training by the federal and state governments.
