International Gender Policy and Qualitative Methods

The department researches and teaches international gender politics, gender and queer studies and intersectionality. Topics covered include the gendering of "the political", international gender policies in the context of their coloniality, the relationship between gender and the state, entanglements with racism and classism as well as heteronormativity. Other topics in the field are transnational gender and LGBTIQ* politics, anti-feminism, transnational (anti-)feminist movements, democracy research, political participation and qualitative methods of social research, among others, which are examined from a queer-feminist and intersectional perspective.
