Quo vadis trade unions?

As part of the summer program of the Research Network Social Law and Social Policy (FoSS) of the University of Kassel and Fulda University of Applied Sciences, the event "Quo vadis trade unions?" will take place on 18 May. Starting at 6.30 pm, Professor Dr. Wolfgang Schroeder, PD Dr. Samuel Greef (both University of Kassel) and Professor Dr. Jürgen Kädtler (Sociological Research Institute Göttingen) will provide insights into current trade union research in Arnold-Bode-Str. 10, Room 0104. The event will be moderated by Jenny Huschke, Regional Managing Director of the DGB Nordhessen.

Germany is facing far-reaching changes: socio-ecological transformation, digitalization, demographic change and global developments are putting the state and the economy under considerable pressure. Whether it is the competitiveness of the German economy in an increasingly service- and digital-oriented world or the reliable financing of social security systems - employees are directly affected and at the same time key players in shaping these processes. Trade unions represent their interests, but their involvement in reform projects is by no means a matter of course. Despite historical successes, corporatist structures and the trust regained in recent years through successful crisis management, the question remains: What is the state of the trade unions in Germany?
