Macrosociology

Macrosociology seeks to theoretically grasp, empirically reconstruct and critically reflect on overall social phenomena and problems. The focus is on national, but also transnational and global power figurations, patterns of inequality and social dynamics. The aim of the subject area is to identify and understand the causes and consequences of social changes and crises.

During the lecture period, Prof. Dr. Jenny Preunkert’s office hours are typically held online on Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. During the break between semesters, office hours will be held on August 12, 2026, September 2, 2026, and September 24, 2026.
