Additional activity field B/C (M 14/15) - Mountain biking at school

The success story of mountain biking began over 50 years ago and has evolved into an established, modern and multifaceted popular sport. Biking is in, even at school!

This event focuses on learning and teaching mountain biking techniques in PE lessons. In addition to basic techniques such as balance, braking and shifting, cornering and turning, negotiating obstacles and riding stairs, the seminar will also cover tricks such as the stoppie, the bunny hop and the wheelie. The curriculum also includes games on the bike, breakdown assistance and school law. The techniques will be put to the test during a ride on a single trail. Finally, a double lesson on mountain biking in physical education at the Goethe-Gymnasium is required to demonstrate basic teaching and demonstration skills.

No special requirements are necessary for participation, but a hardtail of your own would be desirable, but can also be borrowed from the Goethe-Gymnasium bike pool.

Preliminary meeting: June 16, 4 - 5 p.m. (schoolyard Goethe-Gymnasium Kassel, Ysenburgstraße 41, 34125 Kassel)

Dates: Saturday, June 19 + Sunday, June 20; Saturday, June 26 + Sunday, June 27 (9 a.m. - 3 p.m. each day)
