Kassel children learn to swim

During the Covid-19 pandemic, not only schools but also swimming pools in Kassel have had to remain closed time and again. This has reinforced a general trend: many primary school children cannot swim or cannot swim properly. A cooperation between the University of Kassel, the municipal works, the DLRG, the water rescue service and the city of Kassel is now aiming to tackle this problem in a second campaign. This project was initiated in 2022 by the Rotary Club of Kassel under the leadership of former Lord Mayor Bertram Hilgen. After last year's great success, the city of Kassel is taking over this project as a cooperation partner. Because learning to swim saves lives.

We are looking for students who would like to lead swimming courses ("Seepferdchen") for primary school children after specific preparation. The swimming courses will take place in Kassel swimming pools during the Easter and summer vacations and will of course be remunerated.
