Ballstars project celebrates its 10th anniversary in the boathouse of the University of Kassel
Prof. Dr. Volker Scheid opened the event with a warm welcome and acknowledged the impressive development of the project over the past ten years in his speech. Florian Heussner (member of the project management team) then gave a presentation that provided fascinating insights into the history of the project, the development of the partner school program and the scientific monitoring of the integrative mediation concept. The project was launched in 2015 at six elementary school; to date, 24 elementary school are involved in the partner program, over 150 coaches have completed the initial and further training and more than 4,000 primary school children have been active in the ball sports lessons.
Various perspectives on the project were discussed in the subsequent panel discussion. Annika Franke (student and trainer), Christiane Emrich (PE teacher at Sandershausen elementary school), Lukas Toby (project coordinator) and Axel Renner (MT Melsungen board member) reported on the practical implementation, challenges and visions for the future from their respective perspectives.
The event ended with an open exchange between all guests in a relaxed atmosphere - accompanied by delicious snacks from the Studierendenwerk Kassel.
