The conference will be registered for certification as an advanced training event for doctors, physiotherapists and exercise instructors. 12 teaching units will be credited to DRK exercise instructors for participating in the conference. Exercise instructors from the German Gymnastics Federation (DTB) can receive 7 units of credit via the regional associations.

Keynote speeches:

The keynote lectures planned for BIS2026 in Kassel will deal with the question of why some people become inactive in old age, even without physical limitations and in ignorance of their physical capabilities, and try to justify this by their advanced age. The result is a vicious circle of interactions in which physical inactivity encourages a loss of strength and increases the risk of falling and the insecurity of those affected. The presentations are intended to get to the bottom of the possible causes of such a development. With the presentations placed here, we are looking for experts who can provide important impulses and present new findings and experiences on the following topics:

  • Municipal services for fall prevention and age-friendly cities

  • Online services for fall prevention and findings on the use of digital media (e.g. exergames)

  • Influence of medication and pre-existing conditions (e.g. Parkinson's, multiple sclerosis, osteoporosis, etc.) on the risk of falling

Please submit a 1-page abstract by March 1, 2026 to register a 15-minute presentation in which you explain your topic in an introductory manner, describe your own experiences with related data and draw conclusions.

Short presentations:

In addition to keynote speeches, short presentations on any topic related to fall prevention can also be submitted by March 1, 2026.
We also request a 1-page abstract in which the topic is introduced, personal experiences with associated data are described and conclusions are drawn. The following formats are available for short presentations:
