Effect-driven action control in movement learning - How do I tell my child?
The expert workshop aims to address the problem of what insights can be derived from the findings on effect-driven action control for instruction as well as for the design of suitable learning environments in the movement learning process. In particular, we are interested in the question of the (implicit) learning mode within which motor skill acquisition can be anchored. If it is true that human actions are controlled by anticipated effects, it is natural to ask about associated instructions that facilitate the learner's acquisition of movement skills. In this context, insights from experts in experimental cognitive psychology, knowledge theory, and neuroscience will be projected onto considerations of movement learning, incorporating aspects of attentional guidance, analogical learning, metaphorical learning, and implicit learning.
The expert workshop is especially (but not only) aimed at PhD students and post-doctoral fellows whose scientific research focuses on principles of human action control in movement learning. The topic of the workshop will be discussed by the experts from the perspective of different disciplines within keynote presentations. Following each keynote presentation, there will be an opportunity for follow-up questions from the plenary session. Not only is the expertise from the other disciplines called for, but also young scientists will be actively involved in the discussion. In addition, young scientists will have the opportunity to present their own research projects as an overview or individual results from ongoing studies as a poster contribution. Furthermore, it is planned that the experts will also be available for informal exchange on the sidelines of the workshop, e.g. during a joint excursion to the 13th Documenta, the world's most important exhibition of contemporary art.
We look forward to welcoming you soon in Kassel!
