An independent studio offering students’ own proposed topics for Bachelor’s students in the final semester prior to their Bachelor’s thesis, which will tie in directly with the studio. 

The focus must be on the theme of renovation or transformation, whether this involves the preservation of vacant buildings through repurposing and renovation, circular building management or urban repurposing strategies. 

Students must apply in advance by 11 October 2026 at the latest, submitting a synopsis to gabu.heindl@uni-kassel.de and lienhard@uni-kassel.de.

Content: must include at least: the chosen location with plans/sections, the motivation behind the project and a description of the design proposal. 

Notification of acceptance will be provided by 13 October 2026 (before the project plenary meeting). 

First meeting: 14 October 2026, time to be confirmed. 

Further regular group meetings will be scheduled jointly.
