Vocational Education with a focus on nursing and health

The Department of Vocational Education, with a focus on nursing and health, is headed by Prof. Dr. Bärbel Wesselborg. The department focuses in particular on issues related to subject-specific pedagogy and vocational education in the fields of nursing and health. 

Research Focuses:

• Subject-specific teaching research (focus on cognitive activation, design and analysis of learning tasks in the field of nursing, and addressing heterogeneity) 
• Interprofessional education and continuing education in the health professions
• Digitalization (development and evaluation of digital educational offerings)
• Health and health promotion among educators and in professions involving social interaction

Teaching:

The focus is on subject-specific pedagogy courses in the Master’s program in Vocational Education in Health (M.Ed.) as well as in the Master’s program in Vocational Education in Health with a minor in Nursing (M.A.). In addition, seminars are offered as part of the core curriculum in the fields of education and social sciences.
