Teaching Profile

The department plays a key role in the training of teachers in the vocational fields of health and nursing. A particular focus is placed on the subject-specific pedagogy components of the degree programs and the development of corresponding competencies. Students are to be equipped to plan, implement, and reflect on vocational teaching and learning processes in a scientifically sound manner. Research, subject-specific pedagogy, and practical school experience are systematically integrated in this process.

Depending on the degree chosen, different career paths open up: The M.A. qualifies graduates specifically for positions at health care schools, while the M.Ed. prepares students for roles in vocational high school and gymnasium programs with a focus on health, as well as at vocational schools within the dual education system.
