This year's Engineering and IT Conference organized by the Hans Böckler Foundation in cooperation with IG Metall was held at the AutoUni in Wolfsburg from September 26 to 27, 2012. The conference focused on successful design approaches and challenges for interest representation and employees from the fields of engineering and IT with regard to "the future of work." Among other things, the conference examined the extent to which IT can create the conditions for "good" work, what work will look like in the future, and what products and services will determine the future.

As part of the conference, Prof. Dr. Jan Marco Leimeister held a lecture on the topic of crowdsourcing and the associated implications for the world of work. Here, the focus was on the opportunities and risks as well as changes that an implementation of this concept entails for both employees and employers.
