On Thursday, November 14, 2019, a successful disputation took place at the University of St. Gallen at the Institute of Information Systems (IWI) (Supervisor: Prof. Dr. Jan Marco Leimeister):  

Philipp Haas successfully defended his dissertation entitled "Conceptualizing Crowdfunding - Managing Disruptive Transformation In The Banking Industry". In his cumulative dissertation, written entirely in English, Philipp Haas examines how crowdfunding can be conceptualized to enable banks, for example, to harness the benefits of crowdfunding for themselves. In doing so, Mr. Haas' thesis identifies and examines, among other things, the functional components of crowdfunding as well as their interaction in a service system. 

Following the successful disputation, Professor Dr. Jan Marco Leimeister congratulated Philipp Haas warmly and presented him with a doctoral hat individually designed by Philipp Haas' former colleagues (see photo).
