Prof. Dr. Jan Marco Leimeister, Head of the Department of Information Systems and Director of the Scientific Center for Information Technology Design (ITeG) at the University of Kassel, will assume the position of Editor-in-Chief of the renowned Journal of Information Technology (JIT) from  1.July 2020 the function ofEditor-in-Chief (Co-Editors-in-Chief) of the renowned Journal of Information Technology(JIT). JIT is an A journal according to the JOURQUAL3 ranking of the Association of University Teachers of Business Administration(VHB) and is one of the eight leading international journals in the field of information systems of the "Senior Basket of Journals". Leimeister is already currently DeputyEditor-in-Chief of this journal.

Jan Marco Leimeister, who is also a full professor of information systems and director at the Institute of Information Systems (IWI HSG) at the University of St.Gallen, is also already a member of the boards of several high-ranking information systems journals: for example, Associate Editor of the European Journal of Information Systems (EJIS), member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Management Information Systems(JMIS), and member of the Department Editorial Board and Section Editor of the Journal Business & Information Systems Engineering(BISE). 

For his research and teaching Leimeister has received several international awards, including the TUM Research Excellence Award in 2010 and the AIS Award for Innovation in Teaching in 2016. The Wirtschaftswoche sees Jan Marco Leimeister in its 2019 research performance ranking in 4th place among the most research-intensive business administration professors based on publication performance over the past 5 years, as well as in 8th place in the lifetime achievement ranking, measured by publication performance since the beginning of his career (out of 2,824 business administration researchers studied).
