At the International Conference of Information Systems (ICIS), the paper "The Anatomy of User Experience with Conversational Agents: A Taxonomy and Propositions of Service Clues" by Naim Zierau, Thiemo Wambsganss, Andreas Janson, Sofia Schöbel, and Jan Marco Leimeister was awarded Best Theory Paper Award First Runner-Up. The paper deals with the analysis and structuring of user experience of interaction with conversational agents (e.g., chatbots, voice assistants) and posits how design feature classes affect specific user experience classes. The paper was written in part as part of the SNSF project "Understanding and Designing User Trust in Smart Personal Assistants".
 
In addition, the paper "Let`s Team Up: Designing Conversational Agents as Teammates" by Edona Elshan and Philipp Ebel was awarded best short paper in the track "Digital Learning Environment and Future IS Curriculum". In the paper, the authors present design principles for shaping the interaction between learners and conversational agents in team roles.
 
Finally, Thiemo Wambsganss was awarded Best Reviewer.
