From June 28 to July 1, researchers from our department participated in the Annual Conference of the European Association of Environmental and Resource Economists in Rimini, Italy. Together with more than 700 other researchers, they presented their own research and discussed the work of other participants. Papers came from a wide range of topics relevant to environmental economics, including air and water pollution, social norms and pro-environmental behavior, public goods, cooperation, energy, and climate change. The conference also included keynotes from high-level speakers such as Italian Minister of Economy and Finance Daniele Franco, British biodiversity expert Sir Partha Dasgupta, and Nobel Laureate Lars Peter Hansen. The University of Kassel provided one of the largest delegations at the conference with scientists from the chairs of Empirical Economics, Microeconomics and Empirical Energy Economics, Environmental and Resource Economics as well as our chair. In total, 22 participants came from Kassel, some of whom can be seen in the picture above in front of the conference center.
