From June 13 to 19, professors and institute directors from the National Institute of Agronomy of Tunisia (INAT) and the High School of Agriculture of Mograne (ESA Mograne), also in Tunisia, visited the Section of International Agricultural Policy and Environmental Governance.

Within the 18-month project GovSoil (01/2021 - 06/2022), two interdisciplinary modules were developed on “Transition to sustainable agroecological systems”, and “Governance and sustainability of agroecosystems”. The goals of this final workshop in Witzenhausen were on the one hand the exchange about practice-oriented and problem-solving forms of teaching and learning. In this context, Prof. Tobias Plieninger, Prof. Eva Schlecht, Dr. Christian Bruns, Dr. Sören Köpke and Katharina Hemmler presented modules to show examples of what kind of teaching and learning forms are used in their respective sections. Topics discussed included the competencies to be achieved and corresponding methods, the connection between research and teaching, practical components, and difficulties in implementation. Other important goals of the workshop were the exchange about possible future cooperation between the University of Kassel and the two partners as well as the discussion of current opportunities and challenges of organic agriculture on site.
