Nicolaas holds a doctorate in physical chemistry and has been afterwards working for 14 years at Mercedes Benz in Stuttgart in electronics development. Since 1998 he has been working on the problem of food quality determination, in particular using the so-called CuCl2 method. Nicolaas is connected with the department since December 2001, since June 2020 - as a representative of Prof. Kahl, since December 2020 - as a provisional head of department.
