This workshop was funded by the DAAD project "Towards an interdisciplinary analysis of food and water security in the Levant".

Julia Tschersich arbeitet und promoviert in der SÖF Nachwuchsforschungsgruppe RightSeeds am Department für Wirtschafts- und Rechtswissenschaften der Universität Oldenburg. RightSeeds ist ein Verbundprojekt der Carl von Ossietzky Universität Oldenburg, des Instituts für ökologische Wirtschaftsforschung sowie der Georg-August-Universität Göttingen, Abteilung Agrarökologie.
Ihre Forschungsinteressen liegen in den Bereichen der Institutionenökonomik, polyzentrischer und Multi-Level Governance, Commons und der Transformationsforschung. Im Rahmen ihrer Promotion führt sie eine Governance-Analyse zur Einbettung von gemeingüterbasierten Saatgutinitiativen in das nationale, europäische und internationale Landwirtschafts- und Saatgutregime durch und zeigt das Potential des Engagements dieser Saatgutinitiativen für eine sozial-ökologische Transformation der Landwirtschaft auf.
