Foundation Engineering Additions

Type of module:
Elective module - consisting of foundation engineering supplements and foundation engineering seminar.

Course contents:
Calculation of area foundations using the bedding and constrained modulus methods; supplements to the calculation and design of single piles (lateral pressure, horizontally loaded piles, negative skin friction); pile groups; combined pile-slab foundations; dewatering; supplements to the calculation and design of excavations (depth, slip joint, anchorages, serviceability, bedding modulus methods); underpinning and undercutting.
