In 2018, a share of only 16.6% of gross final energy consumption in Germany was covered by energy from renewable sources. Therefore, it is necessary to be aware of the future challenges, which include the preservation of biodiversity and societal challenges such as energy consumption and the acceptance of renewable energies.
