Prof. Dr. Guido Bünstorf

Guido Bünstorf leitet das Fachgebiet Wirtschaftspolitik, Innovation und Entrepreneurship an der Universität Kassel und ist Sprecher des Vorstands des International Center for Higher Education Research (INCHER). Im August 2022 wurde er in die Expertenkommission Forschung und Innovation (EFI) der Bundesregierung berufen. Daneben ist er Sprecher der DFG-Forschungsgruppe 5234 „Multipler Wettbewerb im Hochschulsystem“, der Graduate School in Economic Behavior and Governance sowie der INCHER Graduate School.

Guido Bünstorf forscht und lehrt an den Schnittstellen von Innovations-, Hochschul- und Wissenschaftsforschung sowie Entrepreneurship und Regionalökonomik. Zu seinen Forschungsschwerpunkten gehören die Entwicklungsdynamik innovativer Märkte und Industrien, Reformen im Hochschul- und Wissenschaftssystem, die Bedeutung der individuellen Mobilität für den räumlichen und organisationalen Wissenstransfer sowie die experimentelle Erprobung von Online-Trainingsangeboten für Gründerinnen und Gründer.

Guido Bünstorf hat Volkswirtschaftslehre und Politikwissenschaft an der Universität Freiburg (Breisgau) und der University of Massachusetts (Amherst) studiert. Er wurde von der Friedrich-Schiller-Universität Jena promoviert und habilitiert und war Forschungsgruppenleiter am Max-Planck-Institut für Ökonomik. Längere Forschungsaufenthalte führten ihn unter anderem an die Carnegie Mellon University, die University of California (Berkeley) und die Stanford University. Von 2016 bis 2021 hatte er eine Gastprofessur an der Universität Göteborg inne, wo er weiterhin als Beiratsmitglied des Centre on Knowledge-Intensive Innovation Ecosystems (U-GOT KIES) tätig ist.
