Workshop: Polysun

In order to complete the very intensive introductory course on the integration of solar heating systems to other heating technologies (course XII), a simulation workshop was carried out in collaboration with the Swiss company Vela Solaris. Vela Solaris develops the simulation software “PolySun”.

The workshop comprised the following topics:

• A study of the relevant parameters of an installation of a solar heating system,
• the design of simple solar heating systems,
• the use of part of a previous system design set-ups in the simulation tool,
• efficient simulation procedures, and
• effective acquisition of information.

Some of the experts that helped us to improve our simulating skills were Andreas Witzig and Wolfgang Streicher.
