Scan2me
Scan2Me allows you to retrieve your scan results via a download link that is sent to you by email. The email address is stored in the library system or on the server of the copy system for your card. Please test by scanning a page if the following procedure works for you!
The download link only works within the network of the University of Kassel. To access it from outside, you have to connect to the network of the University of Kassel via VPN - for more information see the page VPN Access. If you do not have an ITS account, it is better to scan to your own USB stick, which you can find in the general information about scanning.
To start the process, press the button with the scanner icon on the Ricoh device (MP C3003: on the left edge of the control panel) and select the "Scan2Me" entry visible in the address field. Then you can use the menus (on the MP C3003 on the display in the left column) to set the scan options (color, resolution, file type). The following values were preset - where possible:
- Resolution: 200 dpi
- Scan type: "Schwarzweiß: Text/Strichzeichnung/Black & White: Text/Hyphenated".
- File type for sending: "Mehrseitig: PDF/Multipage: PDF".
Then start scanning by pressing the big green button, you can also use the document feeder (where available). When you are done, press the '#' key in the number field of the copier.
The scan data is then uploaded to the server. Using your card - either from the library system, or if scanning to cost center from the copier system server - your email address will now be determined. An e-mail is sent to this address with a download link and a temporary password, which you can use to download the scan files.
The maximum size of the scan files is currently about 65MB - for technical reasons it is not possible to be more precise. It is not possible to specify e.g. a maximum number of pages because of the various options and the different contents of the scanned pages.
For the link to work, port 9339 on the host server01.printcenter.verwaltung.uni-kassel.de (IP 141.51.132.20) must be accessible from your PC. If you get an error message "konnte keine Verbindung herstellen/could not connect" or similar, probably this connection has to be released on your firewall. The scan files can only be accessed with the password sent to you by e-mail and are automatically deleted after seven days.
Please make sure that your e-mail address is correctly stored in the corresponding system.
If you want to scan to cost center, you have entered your e-mail address in the form for activating the cost center for your card. This e-mail address was then entered into the server of the copying system by the Finance Department, Central Materials Management. You cannot view this yourself, so please test the accuracy of the email address by scanning a single page. If your name changes and therefore also your e-mail address (e.g. due to marriage or divorce), please inform the Finance Department , Central Materials Management (link can only be opened internally). Otherwise Scan2Me will not work for you. If your card does not have a cost center enabled and you scan to wallet, your email address stored in the library system will be used. You can view and change this in your user account.
