Video conference terms of use (Zoom and BigBlueButton)

In addition to the "Terms of Use for the Information Processing and Communication Infrastructure of the University of Kassel (IT Terms of Use)", the following applies to the use of video communication services such as Zoom and BigBlueButton (BBB)

1. The use of the video communication services provided by the University is only for official purposes, for use in teaching, research, administration and transfer or for collaborative work in teaching and learning groups.
   
2. In order to use Zoom or BBB, the following data is transferred from you as the host to the respective service provider and (temporarily) stored there:
   
   1. Zoom
      1. UK account name (pseydonym in the form of "ukxxxxxxxx")
      2. First name and surname (default as "anonymus", at your own request: first name and surname)
   2. BBB
      1. Pseudonymized key
         
3. Registration for the services takes place via the systems of the University of Kassel using the UK account. Passwords are checked at our DataCenter and are not passed on to the service providers.
   
4. The systems are configured for maximum data economy and information security/protection(settings and information on data economy and security). Hosts may deviate from this in certain respects (through personal settings). The settings must be handled carefully and responsibly and, if necessary, participants must be informed about the settings that affect them.
   
5. Anonymous or pseudonymous participation in the meetings must be guaranteed. Hosts may not ask participants to take part using their name.
   
6. All participants have "the right to their own image" as well as to all their own verbal expressions. This right must also be respected when switching on the microphone and/or camera.
   
7. Copyright must be observed (e.g. presentations, images, films, texts, ...). Materials that have not been explicitly released may not be transmitted.
   
8. The privacy of others must be respected; the dissemination of harassing, defamatory or threatening content is prohibited.
   
9. Any commercial use is prohibited. Advertising or marketing activities are prohibited.
   
10. Recordings may only be made with the express consent of all participants in the meeting. Unauthorized distribution or sharing of streams or recordings on other platforms (e.g. social media channels, youtube, ...) is prohibited.
    
11. If the terms of use are not accepted or if the validity of the university account expires, the Zoom/BBB license will be deleted. Settings and scheduled meetings will be irretrievably lost.
