ESRI (spatial data analysis)

ESRI is used for the creation, analysis and visualization of geodata. It supports the processing of spatial issues in research, teaching and studies.
All students and employees of the University of Kassel can use the entire product family free of charge for study, research (including contract research) and teaching.
The extended user administration as well as technical and content support is provided by Dr.-Ing. René Burghardt from FB06.

2. brief description
With ArcGIS, ESRI offers a comprehensive platform for geographic information systems (GIS). The software enables the collection, analysis and presentation of spatial data and supports a wide range of applications in various disciplines.
3. main functions
ArcGIS Pro: Desktop application for the creation and analysis of maps, 3D visualizations and geostatistical evaluations.
ArcGIS Online: Web-based platform for creating, sharing and analyzing maps and apps.
ArcGIS Apps: Mobile applications for data collection, navigation and analysis in the field.

Environmental sciences: Analysis of climate data for modeling environmental changes.
Urban planning: Creation of maps for the visualization of development plans and infrastructure projects.
5. technical requirements
A Windows operating system is required to use ArcGIS Pro. ArcGIS Online and the associated apps are browser-based and platform-independent. A stable internet connection is recommended.

Access is via the university's ArcGIS online portal: https://unikassel-its.maps.arcgis.com/. People with a UniAccount can log in there using the "Uni Kassel SSO" button. After logging in, the online applications and the ArcGIS Pro download are available.

The ESRI software is used in compliance with the applicable data protection regulations. Personal data is processed in accordance with the university's guidelines.
The ESRI software may only be used for non-commercial purposes in studies, teaching and research. Commercial use is not permitted. The license conditions are regulated within the framework of the campus license.its.uni-bayreuth.d
