Strömungsmechanik

The field of fluid mechanics deals with the motion of liquids and gases. Flow processes play a major role in nature and engineering. In engineering in particular, of interest are not only the flow around objects—such as vehicles, aircraft, and buildings—but also the flow through pipes, channels, and machines. Based on the laws of conservation for mass, momentum, vorticity, and energy, such processes are modeled, experimentally measured, and/or numerically simulated for technically relevant applications in mechanical engineering and process engineering.
