Research

The department of Technical Dynamics deals with modeling and analysis of dynamic processes in mechanical systems. The focus is on the behavior of solids under the influence of multiphysical interactions, with an emphasis on linear and nonlinear vibrations, stability and bifurcation problems. The methods used range from classical analysis to FE modeling of multiphysical problems and multi-body simulation.

The current focus is on application examples from machine dynamics, energy technology, drive technology (including e-mobility) and acoustics. However, the orientation of the research group is fundamental and method-oriented, which is why there is no fundamental restriction to specific fields of application. The current focus is on the modeling and analysis of non-linear vibrations in mechanical systems with multiphysical interactions.
