  • Since 2016:      Associate professor in the Institute for Thermal Engineering at the University of Kassel, Germany
  • Head of two International Research Training Networks of the European Union
    • 2013 – 2017: “Solar Heat Integration NEtwork (SHINE)”, 13 PhD students
    • 2006 -2010: “Advanced Heating and Cooling for Buildings (SolNet)”, 10 PhD students
  • 2012 - 2017: Junior research group leader (BMBF funding initiative “Energy Storage”): “Liquid desiccant systems for residential buildings and for drying applications (OpenSorp)
  • 2005 -2012 Junior professor at the University of Kassel in the field of “Renewable process heat
  • 2002-2004: Research stay at the Technical University in Copenhagen, Denmark, Marie-Curie Post-Doc Fellowship Program of the EU. Project title: “Experimental and Computational Analysis of Flow Patterns at Inlet Devices of Solar Water Stores
  • 2001: Doctorate/PhD (Dr. rer. nat.) on the topic: “System comparison and modeling of a thermosyphonically operated hot water storage tank for solar combi systems
