Key depot

The key depot is responsible for all processes relating to the procurement and management of locking systems and access control systems. Keys and access authorizations are issued via card systems on request

Issue times by arrangement

Key application procedure

  1. open and complete the key application (web form).
  2. save the completed application (file name to be assigned as follows: "Uni-Account_JahrMonatTag.pdf" (example: uk012345_20240131.pdf).
  3. send the saved file to the supervisor by e-mail.
  4. the supervisor forwards this e-mail (with the requesting person in the cc) after checking to the key depot (keydepot@uni-kassel.de), or the janitor's offices at the external locations (see info box key issue). Forwarding automatically confirms that the supervisor has approved the issuing of keys (release).
  5. key collection in person on site (at the earliest 1 working day after receipt of the key application).

The loss of a key must be reported immediately to the key depot by telephone (+49 561 804-2510) or by e-mail (keydepot[at]uni-kassel[dot]de). The University of Kassel reserves the right to assert claims for damages if a key issued is lost.
If you lose your Campuscard, please contact ITS (loss or defect).
The cancellation of a parking space, the deactivation of access functions on the Campus Card and the return of keys must always be done in person at the key depot, this does not happen automatically.

Parking lot rental

Employees of the University of Kassel who work at the Holländischer Platz site have the option of renting a parking space at the Holländischer Platz site. The rent for this is 30,-€ per month.

The following parking spaces (approx. 400) are available at the Holländischer Platz site for a fee:

  • Underground parking garage under the campus library
  • Mombachstraße
If you are interested in renting a parking space, please fill out the documents below and send them by e-mail to the key depot at Holländischer Platz (keydepot@uni-kassel.de). Your multifunction card (Campuscard) will be automatically activated for parking at the start of the contract.

The on-site janitors will be happy to provide you with information about parking options and capacities for the Witzenhausen, Menzelstraße, Wilhelmshöher Allee, Heinrich-Plett-Straße and Damaschke Straße locations (see key issue for contact details).
There is no entitlement to a permanently allocated parking space!

Parking on the university campus

Parking on the university campus outside the designated parking areas (e.g. underground car park, North Campus) or without special permits (such as for disabled parking spaces and short-term parking permits) is generally prohibited.
Please note that unauthorized stopping or parking vehicles will be towed away immediately and at the owner's expense.

If there is a need to drive onto the premises for a short time, e.g. to unload or load, this short-term parking permit can be applied for using this form at the key depot at the e-mail address keydepot@uni-kassel.de. Please note that you must apply for this permit at least one working day in advance.

Bicycle parking spaces

Employees can park their bicycles safely on the Holländischer Platz campus. Three bicycle parking facilities are located in the underground parking garage of the library (access via Georg-Forster-Straße, like the cars to the underground parking garage) and another in front of the administration building at Mönchebergstraße 19.

The facilities work with an electronic door lock system, which allows access via Campuscard. The Campuscard can be activated for the respective bicycle parking facility at the key depot, Georg-Forster-Straße 7, without an application during the above-mentioned opening hours of the key depot.
Permanent parking is not possible. Further secure parking facilities, including for students, are planned at all locations.
