Vienna Day 2

Naturally, topics relating to the RoboCup are hotly debated at breakfast. The minimum equipment is a wall with "visual victims". Muesli and jam sandwiches become a minor matter.

There are no escalators at Matsleinsdorfer Platz, which I don't normally use at all. But, as I'm the material trolley case officer this time, I do miss them. Sometimes we are lucky and can get straight onto the connecting streetcar. Sometimes we have 10 minutes to continue discussing RoboCup problems.

And then finally: the first run. At first, everything seemed to be going well for all the teams. But then... Wheels spinning on ramp despite silicone → Clean wheels after two years of use. Drove too far back on black tile → Remove test loop from the program before the run. Too long dwell time on red cross → Big puzzle.

The second run better. But above all, Cyber Knights actually managed to reach the starting field (the robot's deployment field) again AND display it. That's a lot of points!!! Another good run tomorrow and we can go home happy.

In the evening we went out for dinner. We found a cozy pub to sit outside in a street next to our apartment. There was a lot of meat on offer, but also a few vegetarian dishes. We laughed a lot and had an enjoyable evening.

Yes, of course we also continued to work on the robots, after all, the challenge is coming tomorrow, which seems a little unusual. But more about that tomorrow.
