The Last Few Days

We spent the rest of our time in Busan visiting a water park, hiking to a small temple on one of the surrounding mountains, and taking a trip to a remote but very beautiful little village.

For the return trip to Seoul, we decided to take the slow train this time. After the roughly five-hour ride, we checked into our new lodging—a hostel in the Hongdae university district. From there, we couldn’t pass up the chance to visit the Gangnam Style statue.

To round out our stay, we visited the Everland amusement park near Seoul—home to one of the world’s largest wooden roller coasters and an evening fireworks show.

The return flight was uneventful, aside from some minor turbulence. After a journey of about 19 hours, we arrived back in Germany safe and sound.
