  • explain different radar techniques
  • name safety regulations
  • develop radiometric systems
  • classify various sensor systems according to their applications
  • classify microwave sources
  • evaluate optical sources with regard to their suitability for radar systems

Course contentsMotivation, definitions of terms, fundamentals in sensor technology, radar techniques, characteristic wave behaviour, scanning methods, ultrasonic radar sensors, microwave sources, microwave antennas, laser radar, protection and safety regulations
